Farm-to-Bar: The Luebe-Lu
Recently I was invited to Austin, Texas to celebrate a good friend’s graduation. Having never been there before, I left it in the very capable hands of my host to show me the unique and delicious ropes. “Keep Austin Weird” is their motto, and if not for Austin’s artists, I don’t think I ever would have seen such a beautiful and inspiring side of weird.
It’s with that inspiration I give you the Luebe-Lu, a drink most enjoyed outside with sun, sport, and friends. Cheers!
10 oz. hefeweizen
2 oz. cold pressed strawberry basil lemonade
To make lemonade: Chop 1 cup chopped strawberries and 2 basil leaves with 1/2 cup sugar, cover and refrigerate over night for the a cold-pressed syrup.
Mix 6 oz. of syrup with 6 oz. fresh lemon juice and 12 oz. water. It’s an awesome strawberry basil lemonade that puts a lemon wedge to shame.
