Man Falls From Balcony Above Isla Vista Cliffs

A young man fell 30 to 40 feet from a balcony above the cliffs at 6693 Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista on Thursday night. The County Fire Department responded to the scene after receiving a call for service at 9:32 p.m. There was a party happening at the residence where the balcony was located, according to fire spokesperson David Sadecki. The male victim sustained “serious injuries,” Sadecki added, and was transported to Cottage Hospital. His current condition is unknown.
