Youth in Peril

Reading The Independent‘s “Party Culture and Rape in Isla Vista” made me aware again that our youth are in peril. The story helped us comprehend fully the dangers of the darker elements, the grimness of a party culture fueled by alcohol. As a mom, a grandma, and the president of Santa Barbara’s United Nations Association, I feel we must do something. We can affect the lives of young people in our community.
