A 54-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night while he was walking southbound on Highway 101. It appears to be a suicide. The fatal incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. just north of the Hollister/Winchester overpass in Goleta. According to Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover, the incident is still under investigation, and his identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
