A summary of public comments on the heated issue of short-term vacation rentals in unincorporated neighborhoods countywide is now available for perusal at the county’s Long Range Planning Division site. During a pair of August meetings — in Buellton and Montecito — many attendees expressed the need for better law-enforcement response to noise and parking violations, and perhaps regulations that put occupancy caps on short-term rentals for less than 30 days. The range of feedback is now under consideration as county planners prepare for two public hearings in November. In the meantime, the Santa Barbara city officials will take on the topic on October 15 at City Hall.
