Panga Boat Discovered near Refugio
Sheriff’s investigators discovered 90 gallons of fuel in an abandoned 30-foot panga boat along with five bales of marijuana in nearby bushes about a mile north of Refugio State Beach on 5/19. A nearby resident had observed the suspicious boat and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office. Although no suspects were identified on scene, Homeland Security officials continue to investigate the vessel for evidence.
