Student Hospitalized in Hunger Strike Nuke Protest

Suman Kasturia-a third-year art major and one of many UCSB students on a hunger strike to protest the University of California’s involvement with nuclear weapons laboratories-was hospitalized on 5/12 after becoming violently ill. Kasturia was treated for malnutrition and released three hours later. On 5/15, members of the UCSB faculty protested alongside students and led a teach-in that evening.
