Sheriff’s detectives on 11/9 arrested Dr. Fernando Cordero, a psychologist formerly employed by the county’s Alcohol, Drug & Mental Health Services department for allegedly sexually assaulting two patients, and possibly a third as well. “It is apparent that [the doctor] has targeted Hispanic females with past abuse, mental health issues, and questionable legal status in the U.S.,” said Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Erik Raney. Cordero is currently out on $100,000 bail, awaiting trial.
