Petitioners on UCSB’s campus this week allegedly attempted to dupe students and other potential petition signatories by misrepresenting ballot initiative information on their petitions. After being asked to sign four times for a petition about “cancer research for kids,” Steven Attewell, a UCSB graduate student, noticed that there were three other unrelated petitions he was signing. Attewell said he later found out the petitioners were affiliated with Arno Political Consultants.
