Bomb Scare in Lompoc

What appeared to be a bomb at Lompoc’s Celite mining plant on Miguelito Canyon Road on 12/3 turned out to be a hoax, but operations at the mine ceased until the site was declared safe. Sheriff’s investigators are looking into the incident, but did not say whether it could have been in retaliation for Celite’s recent termination of eight employees and pending termination of 20 more before Christmas.
