The California Fish and Game Commission voted on 12/7 to expand the scope of the ban on lead ammunition used in California condor territory. Now also prohibited are rimfire cartridges .22 caliber or smaller and any lead-based ammo used to hunt non-game birds or animals. As it stands now, hunters may use lead ammo only to shoot quail and other non-waterfowl game birds, and animals shot for their fur.
