In light of the Tea Fire, a few of Westmont College’s upcoming events have been postponed. The fall dance concert, Stories from Africa, will be rescheduled for sometime in December, while last Friday’s instrumental chamber concert is being postponed indefinitely. Westmont’s 4th Annual Christmas Festival will take place as scheduled on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, at First Presbyterian Church (reservations required). The California Coastal Commission’s annual California Art & Poetry Contest is now open to students grades K-12. All entries must have a California coastal or marine theme, and winners will be selected in four grade-level categories. All entries must be postmarked by Saturday, January 31. A Stinking Rose
The documentary devoted solely to everyone’s favorite vampire deterrent, Garlic Is as Good as 10 Mothers, also is the next up in the IHC’s ongoing Food Matters film series. Garlic will be screened this Monday, December 1, in UCSB’s MultiCultural Center Theater at 7:30 p.m. The film’s director, Les Blank, will be on hand to present the doc in Aromarama.
