Where: 113 Harbor Wy., 564-1200, chuckswaterfrontgrill.com.
What: Rich and fresh flavors served at the Santa Barbara Harbor make this a go-to dinner spot for both locals and guests of the city.
How much: Entrees from the sea: $15.95-$26.95; 18-oz. Angus T-bone steak: $29.95; S.B.-style BBQ platter: $15.95.
The dish: Situated on prime real estate at the harbor, Chuck’s Waterfront Grill serves a bountiful selection of entrees from the land to the sea while also providing a panoramic view of the mountains spilling down to the protected boats. The kitchen’s grill blackens artichokes, chicken, salmon, mussels, and tri-tip beef, and its saute pans sizzle teriyaki prawns and sea scallops. The Waterfront Burger’s half-pound of grilled Angus beef can barely fit between two slices of toasted bun, while being topped with aged English stilton blue cheese and balsamic caramelized onion. A variety of entrees will please large groups, with steaks ranging from clean and simple filet mignon to the 11-oz. teriyaki-marinated rib eye. Sunset dinner specials are available from 5-6:30 p.m. nightly to accompany an evening mai tai from the full bar. The Kauai Mud Pie is rich enough to have just a bite, but who can really resist a second?
