The controversial notion of developing Bishop Ranch in Goleta begins public review this week, as the City of Goleta is hosting a workshop on July 21 at 6 p.m. in city council chambers, where the staff will deliver the results of a consultant’s $85,000 fact-finding study of the 240-acre parcel, where as many as 1,200 homes have been conceptually proposed. Neither the landowner nor the City Council have had a peek at the study, which is expected to evaluate agricultural feasibility, among other long-debated issues. There will also be a meeting on August 18 to gather public comment and then the City Council will make a decision on whether to amend the general plan on September 20.
