November 10 has been officially picked as the day that the state’s Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges will make a site visit to the school to follow up on accusations of wrongdoing related to the handling of Serban’s historically protracted performance evaluation and eventual release. The visit, which has been known about since July but didn’t have an actual date assigned until this past week, is the result of a formal complaint lodged by a pro-Serban group, Take Back SBCC, in the days leading up to her departure. The same group also threatened legal action related to alleged Brown Act violations, but those charges have since been summarily dismissed by the Santa Barbara County DA’s office.
