Secret Service Helps Nab S.B. Woman with Fake Checks from Nigeria

Santa Barbara detectives aided by Secret Service agents arrested 47-year-old Passion Moore on 12/12 for possessing $437,485 in fake money orders shipped from Nigeria. Secret Service tipped off the S.B. Police Department on 12/6 that fraudulent money orders were being shipped from Nigeria to the area, and said U.S. Customs had intercepted two packages. One made it through, addressed to a mailbox store. After trailing Moore and witnessing her pick up the package, authorities took her into custody when they discovered several hundred money orders in her car with the name “Citibank” on them. Their value was listed at $1,800.35 each. Moore was booked into County Jail, and her bail is set at $500,000.
