Small Plane Crashes in Santa Maria
Pilot and Passenger Uninjured
A small, single-engine airplane crashed southwest of the Santa Maria Airport at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The plane’s pilot and passenger walked away from the wreck uninjured.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the plane—an RV9A experimental aircraft—lost power and came down in a field near the 1700 block of Sinton Road. The FAA has been notified and is investigating the incident.
