After Occupy Santa Barbara (OSB) delivered a petition to the District Attorney’s Office on March 12, prosecutor Jerry Lulejian, who handles most cases of real estate fraud for the county, agreed to meet with the protest group.

Lulejian said he did not see eye-to-eye with OSB on everything, but there was one possible tangible result of the meeting. The DA’s Office is considering drafting a letter to the state attorney general asking her not to go forward in a multistate and federal settlement with five major lenders. That settlement would preclude the county’s ability to file civil cases against those banks.
