The February edition of Solvang’s monthly “Third Wednesday”, to be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, creates the ideal gift-giving opportunity for wine – and beer – lovers: Solvang Third Wednesday Wine & Beer Walk tickets can now be purchased in advance, through a new on-line ticketing option. Visitors and locals can buy tickets for themselves – or as gifts – for any future Wine & Beer Walk, through First Street Tickets at The resulting tickets for the Wine & Beer Walk – just $20.00 per person – can be redeemed at Wandering Dog Wine Bar (1539-C Mission Drive) the respective day of the event, in exchange for the Wine & Beer Walk logo glass, tasting vouchers and map.

On the Wine & Beer Walk, which runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Third Wednesday-goers get to soak up all of the day’s deals spread throughout the town, by venturing out on the monthly activity which includes wine or beer tastings at five venues of participants’ choice, the aforementioned logo glass, and a map to guide tasters to crowd-pleasing Solvang watering holes like Wandering Dog Wine Bar; Sort This Out Cellars; The Good Life, Craft Beer & Wine Cellar; Carivintâs Winery’s Tasting Room; Randy’s Taproom; the Olive House; Casa Cassara Winery & Vineyard’s Tasting Room; Dascomb Cellars; Lions Peak Vineyard’s Tasting Room; Solvang Brewing Company; Viking Garden Cellars; the Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards and Toccata Tasting Rooms; Cali Love Wine; and more.

Wine & Beer Walk tickets can also be purchased on-line the day-of, via credit card. Cash-only day-of tickets for the Wine & Beer Walk will continue to be sold at the Olive House (1661 Mission Drive), Wandering Dog Wine Bar (1539-C Mission Drive) and Sort This Out Cellars (1636 Copenhagen Drive).

The Solvang Third Wednesday Wine & Beer Walk is an added bonus, on top of regular Third Wednesday deals and discounts at merchants and restaurants all over town, Solvang’s weekly Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market, and deals at Solvang hotels. February’s Third Wednesday will also feature another “Cash Mob”, with a carefully-curated “mystery” shopping location.

February’s “Cash Mob” gathering is at 5:20 PM, when “Mobbers” are invited to meet in front of Wandering Dog Wine Bar, each bearing $10.00 to spend. The “Cash Mob” will travel together to February’s “mystery” shopping location, which is a “natural” choice for artful items. February’s “mystery” merchant will also offer an exclusive Third Wednesday discount, allowing “Mobbers” to put their $10.00 to good use. Post-shopping, the “Cash Mob” is invited to refuel at Randy’s Taproom at C and R Imports (1525 Mission Drive), where “Mobbers” will receive 20% off beer and wine.

February’s “Cash Mob” will also feature a free raffle upon the “Mob” gathering, awarding the raffle winner with Five “Solvang Dollars” to spend at February’s “mystery” shopping location. “Cash Mob” latecomers who miss the 5:20 PM meeting time, will be able to find the February 19 “mystery” shopping destination on the Solvang Third Wednesday Facebook page.

Once again, February’s Third Wednesday guests looking to get crafty, can enjoy the Third Wednesday interactive art demonstration at Solvang’s artist collective, Art Hus (475 First Street, #2; 805.686.1892), from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM, and the jewelry-making class at Kandra’s Beads (1539-A Mission Drive; 805.686.8804), from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Additionally, the Wildling Museum (1511-B Mission Drive) will offer FREE admission from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing visitors to explore the new exhibit, “On Nature’s Terms: Paintings of Thomas Paquette commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act.” “Hawaii’s Endangered Birds by Marian Berger” is also on view.
