A Thin Résumé Riddled with Exaggeration
There are many reasons why we shouldn’t vote for Justin Fareed, an inexperienced Trump supporter backed by the oil industry to represent us in Congress.
Fareed has taken contributions from Murray Energy, a powerful coal corporation, and thousands of dollars from Greka, a company responsible for multiple oil spills in Santa Barbara. Being beholden to coal and oil is not for us. We need politicians who will fight to protect our Central Coast from oil spills and pollution.
When Republicans ran to disassociate themselves from Donald Trump, Fareed belatedly followed to save his campaign. But Fareed had been a strong supporter while Trump insulted Mexicans and Muslims, degraded women, and offended veterans.
Recently, Fareed was caught taking credit for volunteering at a veteran’s event in Santa Maria, claiming he “Enjoyed helping make this happen today.” The event’s organizer, Supervisor Steve Lavagnino, openly criticized Fareed for using the event for political purposes, without showing up to a single planning meeting.
There is a clear pattern of naiveté, exaggeration and inconsistency that proves Justin Fareed will not represent Central Coast values in Congress. That’s why I am casting my vote for Democrat Salud Carbajal – I hope you will join me.
