Investigators think the man was hit by a vehicle travelling westbound on Cabrillo. The driver fled the scene after the collision. Surveillance videos of what police describe as the “vehicle of interest” depict a light-colored, small- to mid-size sport utility vehicle. It is believed to have front end, headlamp, and possible windshield damage.

The Santa Barbara Police Department has requested assistance in locating this vehicle. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the department immediately at 897-2355 or anonymously at 897-2386.
