Cut Snake went absolutely mental at EOS last Friday. There’s simply no other way to explain the raging set. A cool mix of Isla Vista surf rats, beachy hipsters, and downtown trendsetters packed the dance floor. The diversity of the crowd made the scene exciting, and there was an intensified flowing energy about the club.

Fisher and Sedley did not hold back like they would on their early rooftop party days – they really went for it and dropped heavy lines at the beginning of the show. Of course, Cut Snake is all about having a party, and they brought a foam blaster to drench the audience, as well as a whole bunch of shoes to drink beer out of. I was dumbfounded at the amount of shoes that must have been beer-soaked throughout the show – but hey, when else are you going to “do a shoey, mate,” other than when you’re young and restless?

Fish and the fans alike were certainly entertained, and there are probably 1,000 Snap Chats to prove it. The guy is a true performer and loves when the boys and girls are “going off,” which is surfer talk for firing, pumping, or basically blowing up.

The set really went double overhead as Cut Snake went into their tumbling single “Jungle Shrimp,” and a deep voice bellowed, “do the Jungle Shrimp,” over a beat that felt like boulders flying down a cliff side. With keys, synths, and a bunch of other bells and whistles, the single is a sure-fire banger.

The mix of bottle poppers, Vodka Red Bullers, and straight-up beer-drinking crew all loved the wild night. Thank you to Sedley, Fish, and all the people that helped put on the show and allowing us to fully let loose, yew!
